We are here to see the estuary of West Flood Canal
"We are here to see the estuary of West Flood Canal. Muara Angke is also the estuary of Ciliwung River and Krukut River," he mentioned on the location, Thursday (1/9).
He informed, during the heavy rain, water discharge in Ciliwung River can reach 500 cubic meters per second and Krukut River around 200 cubic meters per second. Based on the evaluation result, water can't flow optimally because of siltation that makes water to flow slowly. This could cause inundation to settlements near the location.
1,000 Sand Sacks Prepared to Anticipate Tidal Flood in Penjaringan"In the future, we will concern to Muara Angke River and prepare it well thus it can hold water more than 700 cubic meters per second," he mentioned.
He expects, flood management in downstream
can optimize water flow from channels in the center of the city. Thus it can handle flood issues in areas affected by flood such as Kampung Pulo, Cilandak, and Cawang."In addition to rapid water from upstream, we also need to manage its downstream," he asserted.
